Two Australian Poems
Cultural or national identity comes from things people can have in common, such as language, ethnicity and nationality. However, these things can also make people feel divided from other people of a different background. In the poems “Son of Mine” (p. 230) and “Nationality” (p. 231) we can read the thoughts of two Australian poets about racism and national identity.
