The British (serves 60 million)

Benjamin Zephaniah (1958–) grew up in Handsworth, an inner-city area of Birmingham, which he has later called “the Jamaican capital of Europe”. His poetry is strongly influenced by the music and poetry of Jamaica and what he calls “street politics”.

You can read his poem "The British (serves 60 million)" on page 173.
